The Krohn Conservatory has announced the winners of the 2017 Enquirer Media Butterfly Show Photo Contest. Several hundred photos were submitted to the contest in each category:

There was also a new Instagram Contest category for 2017 that harnessed 400 additional submissions using #krohnbutterfly2017. The winner, Heyman Tang, was randomly drawn. All category winners have been notified, with each receiving a $100 Macy’s Gift card.

The Krohn Conservatory presents five seasonal shows annually, and cameras are welcome at anytime. The Summer Floral Show, Petals and Pedals: Take a Ride on the Floral Side—presented by Scherzinger Pest Control — runs from July 1 – August 27, Tuesdays – Sundays (Closed Mondays) from 10a.m.-5 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to ride their bikes to the show, and park right outside Krohn Conservatory to receive a dollar off admission! The show features a bounty of beautiful summer blooms. Guests can learn about the history of biking as they stroll through the sweet smells of cascading Calibrachoa, gorgeous Hydrangea, and Carolina Allspice. There’ll be a Red Bike on display information about the Cincy Red Bike Program.The team of judges, led by Gary Kessler of Kessler Photography, pored through hundreds of beautiful photos to select each category winner. The team studied each photo, making note of lighting, composition, detail, color and subject expressions. “The number of outstanding photos submitted to the contest this year was simply stunning,” said the judges. “Though that made our task extremely difficult, it was a joy to review each and every submission.
