Time To Play! – New Playgrounds at Cincy Parks

What’s a neighborhood park without a playground for your kiddos to enjoy? We are beyond excited two new park playgrounds are now available to the public, and much more is in the works.

The Mt. Echo Park playground opened in January and includes many accessible features, such as an inclusive whirl and a buddy rocker, which can accommodate eight children.

The Burnet Woods playground, next to the upper park shelter, replaced an aging play structure. It is near the historic park bandstand and accessed from Clifton Avenue. It opened in March and also has a number of accessible features. These include a glider, a disc swing which can hold a number of children at the same time, and musical instruments. The safety surface of the play area is also accessible. It is covered in engineered wood fibers as are many of our playgrounds. This provides a safe surface while also providing access for mobility devices.

Another playset to look forward to this spring is the PNC Grow Up Great Playground in Inwood Park, funded in partnership with the Cincinnati Parks Foundation and PNC Bank, the major donor. This playground will be the largest one in the park system and will feature our first zipline.

Don’t forget to check out the recently completed, Westwood Town Hall Park and Recreation Center. This beautiful remodeled park includes a unique new playground, a plaza and community gathering space, new landscape, the addition of terraced seating, and a dog park.

New swings have also just been installed at Glenway and Mayfield Parks in East Price Hill, Clifton’s Dunore Park, Mt. Airy Forest, and Drake Park in Kennedy Heights.
