Our Top 5 Holiday Events

The winter season is finally here with plenty of festive activities happening throughout Cincinnati Parks. With holidays lights, live musical performances, craft making, and winter hikes, there’s surely something the whole family will love! We made a list of our top 5 holiday events (so be sure to check it twice)!

Winter in the Woodlands

Fri., December 7, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. – California Woods Nature Preserve(Inclement weather date: Saturday, December 8) Follow a beautiful, luminaria-lit trail on a leisurely self-guided walk through the forest. Decorate home-baked holiday cookies, make crafts, listen to storytelling at the cabin and sit by a crackling fire to enjoy lively acoustic music by Ceol Mohr.  Cost of admission: $6 per person, register online by Dec. 6. Holiday Crafts Workshop

Sat., December 15, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. OR 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. – LaBoiteaux Woods Nature Preserve
Enjoy creating a variety of crafts, many of them made with natural materials. The Secret Santa Room gives children a chance to make presents for family members. Staff instruct and advise but the personal touches are up to you! Cost of admission: $6 per person or $18 per family (up to 3 children and 2 adults), register online by Dec. 13. Santa-Bration! at the Carousel

December 21-21, 11:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. – Carol Ann’s Carousel
Santa’s coming to Carol Ann’s Carousel for the holiday! Enjoy family-fun holiday and winter themed crafts all weekend. Take a selfie with Santa December 22nd from 11am-1pm! Enter for your chance to win a Park’s goodie bag! The event is free, Carousel ride token available for purchase. For questions, call 381-3756.

Krohn Holiday Show: A Crystal Holiday

November 26- January 6, 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. – Krohn Conservatory 
Discover the shimmering crystal magic of winter at Krohn Conservatory’s 2018 Holiday Show. Enjoy fragrant holiday florals, exciting model trains and Applied Imagination’s miniature Cincinnati buildings constructed of natural materials. Cost of admission: $7 for adults, $4 for youth (ages 5-17), children 4 and under are free! Volunteer Opportunity: Eradicating Alien Invaders

Sat., December 8, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. – Avon Woods Nature Preserve
While this event isn’t specifically geared towards the holidays, we still think it makes the list! Get in the spirit of giving by volunteering your time with us! Join other adult volunteers to help remove harmful invasive plants such as winter creeper and honeysuckle. Pizza is provided for lunch afterwards. For questions, call 861-3435.
