The holiday season is a tricky time. For families, it means spending more time making purchases, cooking, traveling and long hours socializing. It can be both stressful and fulfilling at the same time.
Listening to holiday music often, even if you don’t sing them yourself, will change your mood. How about including LIVE holiday music which can be found on Friday, December 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm during the Holiday Natural Craft Workshop at LaBoiteaux Woods Nature Preserve. At this craft workshop you make and take home crafts suited to all ages of children and adults too! If you can’t make it on Friday, register for the Saturday workshop. Come to Krohn Conservatory “Breakfast with Santa” December 11, 9 – 10 a.m. for a continental breakfast and a visit with Santa and a special time to see Krohn Conservatory’s 2016 Holiday Show “A Whimsical Wonderland”. Making up silly holiday games to play with your family and friends in your neighborhood park is a great way to keep your spirits high. There are lots of outdoor games you could invent by simply tweaking everyday games to a holiday theme. Games and other hands-on activities are the norm for our Winter Break Day Camps from December 21 through December 30 from 9:30 – 2:30pm for campers in Kindergarten – 3rd grade. Themes such as Blizzard Blast Camp at Trailside Nature Center on Dec. 21, Narnia Winter Beaver Camp at LaBoiteaux Woods Nature Center on Dec. 22 and the WOW! Wonders of Winter Camp at California Woods Nature Center on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 will get campers outside, active and having fun all day long! Fee: $25 per camper per camp. REGISTER HERE
