Explore Nature Summer Camp Updates!

Dear Camp Parents,
We are thrilled to be able to offer summer camp opportunities this season. In doing so, our top priority is the safety of our campers and staff. We are glad to adhere to the health guidelines issued by the State of Ohio as we serve campers during the 2020 summer season. Our camps will begin June 8th. New this year, our camps will include a number of safety protocols including:
  • Smaller group sizes (9:1 child/instructor ratio)
  • Health checks at the beginning of the day for staff and campers including temperature readings
  • Frequent hand washing throughout the day
  • Minimal contact check in/out
  • Additional staff per group for enhanced disinfecting and group distancing
  • Overhauled lesson plans and activities to incorporate social distancing
  • Staff will wear masks
  • Asking those with underlying health conditions to reconsider attending camp

We will not offer more camps than we are able to safely operate. Some camps have, unfortunately, been suspended due to social distancing and issues with camper and staff safety including all preschool camps. To ensure camper safety, we are reducing the number of campers in each camp. We are reviewing registrations to determine demand and whether gaps exist.

  • Those who have registered for Explore Nature Summer Camps please check the email you used to register for camps, search for an email ending in @cincinnati-oh.gov
  • All camp registrants will receive final confirmation on their camp status no later than June 12th.
  • If you pursued a refund please keep in mind it may take up to 8 weeks for you to receive the refund electronically or by post mail.
  • Explore Nature may be reached at 513-321-6070 or by email.
We appreciate your continued patience as we navigate this quickly evolving situation. To keep our campers safe we are working hard to adhere to not just the State guidelines, but also to industry best practices. It remains our pleasure to provide quality nature education programming for your family.
Thank you,
The Explore Nature! Team
