School’s OUT! How Sweet it is…in More Than One Way!

Besides enjoying a day off of school on President’s Day, your child can discover the sweet rewards of maple sugaring  at our day camp on Monday, February 20 at California Woods from 9:30am – 2:30pm. Campers ages 5 (currently in Kindergarten) – 10, become maple sugar farmers for a day by tapping trees, collecting sap and making syrup at the Marian J. and Charles D. Lindberg Nature Center in California Woods Preserve!  Part of the excitement is discovering how maple trees make their sap and how people figured out how to turn it into the sweet treat we enjoy today. Engaging activities make the learning fun with games, a make/take home craft and LOTS OF TASTING! Pack a lunch and be sure to dress in layers for indoor and outdoor adventures!  Fee: $25 per camper.

With only a few spots left, registrations may fill before the deadline of midnight on Feb 16.  REGISTER HERE  Call 231-8678 for more information.
