Response to Parks Fiscal Review

As many of you are aware, Mayor Cranley asked that an independent fiscal review be conducted in addition to the procedural audit that Parks conducts annually.  We are pleased to announce that after 95 procedural reviews conducted by the Auditor, the report identifies only a few suggestions of how Parks may “enhance” the way business is currently conducted; however it is important to mention that there was no financial mismanagement.

President of the Cincinnati Park Board; Otto M. Budig, stated that he welcomes future dialogue with the City Administration on the findings of the fiscal review, and commented that “nothing is so good that it cannot be made better.”

The Board of Park Commissioners will continue its stewardship of this award winning park system as outlined in the City’s Charter, which identifies the Board’s responsibility of the “control and management of the parks and parkways of the city.”
