New Summer Camp for Homeschoolers

Cincinnati Parks is excited offer a NEW Summer Camp for homeschoolers on August 29 – September 2 from 9:30am – 3pm !

Using the results from a survey completed by our homeschool program participants this Spring, parents indicated that they wanted a camp for homeschoolers that had engaging STEM activities such as hikes, outdoor and field investigations, educational games and make/take science projects. We have included these in the camp’s daily schedule AND added the expertise of Ohio State University staff, local scientists, university professors and field technicians to provide a deeper understanding of daily topics for this new week long camp.

Monday begins with a focus on forest management that includes a tree climbing demonstration and gathering datea from field monitoring equipment used to detect invasive pests. Tuesday continues the experiential learning as campers determine the water quality of our stream and operate mini-robots in challenge course. Close encounters with reptile and amphibians will be the highlight of Wednesday. Prehistoric fossils to robots will keep campers amazed. Our last blast for the week is creating and launching rockets on Friday to the delight of our parents and siblings!  The diversity of topics and activities in this camp will delight any youth!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity…spots are selling quickly at $75 per camper.  .
