Haven’t we always heard that homemade gifts come from the heart? This can be a hard concept to teach children these days. But with the Holiday Season quickly approaching, it is a great time to practice this and help them express their love and gratitude for family and friends. Cincinnati Parks provides great opportunities for this on both the East side and West side of town before the hurried rush of the holiday arrives:
Winter in the Woodlands
Fri., December 1, 6:00 – 8:00p.m. California Woods Nature Preserve (East Side), 5400 Kellogg Avenue, 45230
Inclement weather date: Saturday, December 2 at same time
Families and adults can follow a beautiful, luminaria-lit trail on a leisurely self-guided walk through the forest. Decorate your own home-baked holiday cookies, make crafts, listen to storytelling at the cabin and sit by a crackling fire to enjoy lively acoustic music by Ceol Mhor. Sponsored by the California Woods Advisory Council. Fee: $6 per person. Call 231-8678 for more information. Register online by noon on Nov 30.
Holiday Crafts Weekend
Fri., December 8, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. OR Sat., December 9, noon – 2:00 p.m.
