ABOUT THE SHOW
Could it be? Indeed! The Krohn Conservatory Butterfly Show turns 20 this season! The years have really fluttered by quickly since the doors opened to the very first butterfly show in 1996. Over the years, the show has become emblematic of spring in Cincinnati. Buds emerge on the trees..flowers poke their heads out of the once frosty earth...and the butterflies return once more to the historic Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park.
This season, the colorful and exotic Butterflies of the Philippines will preside over a majestic tribute to the marvelous Filipino culture. The showroom will be filled with butterflies soaring among bold displays that will immerse visitors in a sumptuous tropical environment.A large, dramatic mural of an erupting volcano and a wildly cascading waterfall will provide a striking backdrop for many tropical plants such as ornate orchids, brilliant bromeliads, delicate anthuriums and dramatic dracaenas.
Travelling far away to the paradise of the Philippines will be as easy as a trip to the Krohn! The entire conservatory will be transformed— brilliantly showcasing the life, the culture, and stunning natural beauty of the Philippines.
As always, there will be something to delight everyone at the 2015 Butterfly Show! School groups can book a visit online; photographers will really enjoy special photo nights; and Family Nights after work bring kids and families together to enjoy the butterflies in the soothing evening light of spring.
Many exciting events have been planned throughout the 12-week show to allow visitors to discover even more about the vibrant, engaging and gracious Filipino culture.OTHER AREAS OF THE CONSERVATORY TO EXPLORE
